The Adult Day Care Spring Planting and Ice Cream Social Done in a Day (DIAD) Project was held on Monday, April 19, 2010. The volunteers weeded the garden at the day care center, planted spring bulbs and then went inside where they served ice cream to and socialized with the seniors. Tracy Meerwarth Pester chaired the event on behalf of the DIAD Committee. The directors of the center were very appreciative of the volunteers efforts to beautify the garden areas and the seniors really enjoyed the afternoon treat and the opportunity to chat with the JLM volunteers. This event was funded by the grant previously awarded to the Adopt A Grandparent Program by the Grotta Fund. Thank you to all our volunteers and to Tracy Meerwarth Pester & Holly Mandala for all of their efforts organizing this event.
